  HAND SIGNED BY DANIEL RACE - 5TH CHIEF CASHIER OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND 1751-1775

 

Received the 9th of April 1768 from Rt.Honourable Robert Lord Henly one of four tellers of his Majesty's.
Receipt of Exchequer the sum of thirty one thousand hundred and ten pounds two shillings and two pence three farthings being part of an order for £53,238 and 5/- bearing date of 5 April 1768 in the name of the Chief Cashier of the Bank of England, Ivay received by DANIEL RACE.

Witness - A.Newland he became the 8th Chief Cashier.
A superb piece of Banking History also how many notes of Daniel Race have ever been sold or mentioned in private hands. The collector who now owns this piece has a item that so far only two of these receipts are known in private hands.
